Newcomers

Newcomers is a social platform and a network for LGBTQIA+ refugees and LGBTQIA+ migrants within RFSL Luleå och norra Norrbottens län that will meet regularly and offer activities based on the participants’ wishes. We operate in the upper north of Sweden and our catchment area is the municipalities in the northern region of Sweden.

Would you like to have fun, arrange acitivtes, meet others within Newcomers, get crisis counseling and support or just hang out? If so, you are welcome to join our gatherings.

We always offer evening snacks and on an irregular basis our counsellor is on site.

Our group takes particular care to protect the privacy of our members. One of the leaders will meet with you briefly before your first meeting for information and proper behavior. Also, what is shared in the group is confidential.

But we also intend to be a bridge to the wider Swedish LGBTQIA+ community, for those who want.

We arrange activities in Luleå and surrounding areas. We also offer support and counselling to LGBTQI people and refugees located in Arjeplog, Arvidsjaur, Boden, Gällivare, Haparanda, Jokkmokk, Kalix, Kiruna, Pajala, Piteå, Älvsbyn, Överkalix, Övertorneå.
