AboutRFSL

RFSL – the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) rights is a non-profit organisation and one of the oldest surviving LGBTQIA-rights’ federation in the world. RFSL’s National Association (förbund) was founded in 1950 and is thereby one of the world’s oldest organisations of its kind, with more than 7,000 members and 34 branches all over Sweden.

RFSL’s goal is that LGBTQIA+people should have the same rights, possibilities and obligations as everybody else in the society. The work is done through political advocacy and opinion making, informational and educational work, and social and supportive work with national projects and collaboration world wide. At branch level the focus is more about creating social meeting places.

RFSL Luleå och norra Norrbottens län is a non-profit organisation and a branch within the national organisation RFSL. RFSL Luleå och norra Norrbottens län was founded in 2011 and is run by a board, four employees, activists and all our members. More branches.

RFSL Ungdom – the Swedish Youth Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) rights, also referred to as RFSL Youth, has six local branches (Districts) and five Activist Groups with over 2,000 members throughout the country.

RFSL Ungdom’s National Association (ungdomsförbund) takes a queer approach operating with- and for LGBTQIA+youths breaking traditional gender norms and transgressing expectations related to sexualities and/or gender characteristics within the general society.

RFSL Ungdom Luleå is an Activist Group, at the moment also functioning as a District, within RFSL Ungdom based in Luleå. All Districts & Activist Groups (Swedish).
